When choosing PVC edge banding, the quality directly affects the overall aesthetics and service life of the furniture. 1. Look at the hue and surface roughness of the edge banding

The color of the surface of a good edge banding is also very important. Is the color close to and brighter than the customized product? If the surface is very rough and has traces, the quality is definitely not good. This is the surface quality problem of the edge banding. It has little to do with the quality of the inner material of the edge banding. It is mainly the production process of the edge banding factory and the production technology skills of the employees. A good edge banding is: the surface must be smooth, no bubbles or very few bubbles, no traces or very few traces, moderate gloss, not too bright or too matte (unless there are special requirements).

2. Check the surface and bottom flatness of the edge banding strip

The surface and bottom flatness and thickness of the edge banding strip are uniform. If not, the glue line at the junction of the edge banding strip and the board will be too eye-catching or there will be a gap between the board and the edge banding strip. If the gap is too large, it will affect the overall effect.

3. Check whether the edge banding strip is whitish

Bend the edge banding strip to see if the surface is seriously whitish. The base color of the edge banding strip should be close to the surface color of the board. PVC edge banding strips are mainly made of PVC and calcium carbonate plus additives. If the calcium carbonate content is too high, the edge banding will turn white and the bending will turn white, which proves that the quality of this type of product is poor.

4. Check the elastic strength of the edge banding strip

Strong elasticity means good wear resistance and better quality. Too high strength also means increased processing difficulty. Low elasticity means low wear resistance and low anti-aging ability. In addition, according to the actual production needs, manual trimming is generally required, which can be appropriately soft, and the automatic edge banding machine can be appropriately hard.

5. Check whether the adhesive is applied evenly

Whether the adhesive is applied evenly directly affects whether it is easy to fall off during use.

6. Smell the PVC edge banding to see if it has any smell

Products made with good quality raw materials generally have little smell. If the smell is too strong, it means that the quality of the raw materials used in production is relatively poor.

7. Check whether the surface is smooth and flat, and whether there are any spots

If there are spots or fine pinholes, it may be made of recycled PVC. Check whether the back of the edge banding is flat. You can use a flat blade to clamp the edge banding horizontally to see if it is straight. If it is not straight, thick glue lines will appear on both sides after the edge banding.
